Ruth is the head of techUK’s Financial Services and Payments programme, leading on all issues relating to open banking and open data, payments, digital identity and blockchain. The work spans building advocacy relationships with government and regulators, identifying market developments and facilitating networking and business development opportunities for members.

Before joining techUK, Ruth, who is a qualified UK solicitor, worked as a Senior Manager for Payments for retail sector organisations in the UK and Europe-wide, dealing with competition cases and leading advocacy campaigns on EU Regulation in the retail payments field. Prior to this, she has worked as a professional support lawyer and as a journalist. She holds a law degree and a masters in EU competition law from Kings College, London.
