What is the course about?
Do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day? Chances are, you don’t. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths. To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, CliftonStrengths®, in the 2001 management book Now, Discover Your Strengths. The book spent more than five years on bestseller lists and ignited a global conversation, while CliftonStrengths® helped millions discover their top five talents.
The most effective people know their talents and are always investing in strengths. A Talent is a natural ability to think, to act, to react in a certain way. We are all born with different attributes that develop into talents during our childhood but few of us really know what these are or how to hone them into strengths.
CliftonStrengths® is the most popular online talent assessment and has now been completed by over 17 million people around the world. StrengthsFinder® identifies an individuals’ top talents based from a group of 34 themes in 4 talent domains; Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building and Strategic Thinking, which broadly describe the predominant strengths of the individual.
People who master their Top 5 talents are 6 times more likely than others to be more involved in their work. People who have the opportunity to use their talents every day in their work are on average 7.8% more productive.
Why Should I Attend?
Gallup recently conducted global research on companies that have implemented strengths-based management practices and found that 90% of the groups studied had performance increases at or above the following ranges:
• 10% to 19% increase in sales
• 14% to 29% increase in profit
• 3% to 7% higher customer engagement
• 6% to 16% lower turnover (low-turnover organizations)
• 26% to 72% lower turnover (high-turnover organizations)
• 9% to 15% increase in engaged employees
• 22% to 59% fewer safety incidents
Who should attend this course?
Our workshop will benefit anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of their strengths and how to use them to be more effective in the work-place.
Who is the course leader?
For the past twenty years Kevin Thiele has been building, managing and leading teams in the technology sector for companies such as LG, Blue Coat, SonicWALL and Symantec.
When he started his management career there was no reliable method of identifying individual strengths so coaching was more or less a matter of trial and error often with disappointing results. Happily, science has now come to the rescue in the form of the CliftonStrengths® psychometric assessment which enables leaders to value the different strengths of all of their team members.
Inspired by his own experience of taking CliftonStrengths® Kevin established Sales Code in 2017 to provide strengths-based coaching to leaders and managers in the technology sector.
As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach Kevin now uses his signature talent themes of Command, Communication, Achiever, Self-Assurance and Competition to help people put their thoughts and feelings into words and thereby achieve a deeper understanding of who they really are.
Kevin was born in London and loves walking around the city streets on his days off admiring the architecture and learning about the history of our capital city, he might even pop into a pub for the occasional pint of London Pride. He is also a movie buff who enjoys nothing more than relaxing in his local cinema watching the latest release from Hollywood.
