This month has already seen a number of publications and announcements from Government that have a potential impact on IoT. These include the independent review on 'Growing the AI Industry in the UK', the Clean Growth Strategy which covers areas such as the built environment and smart infrastructure, and the National Infrastructure Commission's interim National Needs Assessment report. Government has also unveiled a competition for '5G testbeds and trials' which will focus on building the UK's 5G ecosystem. The KTN are running briefing sessions around the UK over the next couple of weeks for those interested.

Last week also saw the launch of a new thought leadership piece. In association with techUK and the ICE, Pinsent Masons published The Evolution of Infratech. This new report looks at how technology is shaping the future of infrastructure, providing key industry insight into how companies around the world are dealing with the transformation.

Meanwhile we continue to work with DCMS on their Secure by Design IoT initiative, hosting a workshop with members and the team on their proposals. We will continue to engage in this work over the next couple of months.

We still have a small number of places available for our Supercharging event on the 31 October at the Siemens Crystal building. techUK members have one complimentary ticket per company so do take advantage of the opportunity to hear from Digital Minister Matt Hancock, CEOs from Yoti, Nominet and AgriLedger, and senior representatives from Atkins Global, Living PlanIT, Cisco and many more.
