Our Mission

We know that a tech company's greatest asset is its people. We want to build THE community for all HR, Talent and People professionals working in tech companies - from those companies just starting out (whose "HR" person is also probably the marketeer, chief organiser and bookkeeper!) to larger organisations with whole teams responsible for People. We want to bring everyone together, because we all have something to learn and a story to share.

Event structure

HRConnect events will have a 15:00 start, run for 2 hours, and will follow a new structure:

1. Best practice (the learning part)

2. Case studies / roundtable discussion (the sharing part)

3. Free advice from our employment lawyers (the legal part)

And what makes it different to any other event? The group aims to provide an opportunity to learn about and discuss topics around HR, leadership and organisational development in the tech sector. It's also an environment where you can share ideas and network with others working in tech.

Upcoming events

The year ahead of events have been designed around specific challenges and opportunities in the lifecycle of a tech company, and no matter which stage you are at, there is always something to learn... or a story to share!

#1 Growth > From recruitment to retention (September)

#2 Sustainability > Employee engagement, comms and wellbeing (January)

#3 Development > Developing new ways of working, from apprentices to remote working (April)

#4 Leadership > Leading a tech company, when you don’t have Zuckerbeg or Mayer (June)

In addition to these, we will put on bespoke legal advice and guidance learning sessions as issues come up (it’s already a busy political year, so we know there will be changes!). Invites will be sent out for these as areas of interest are identified, and these will follow the same format of our last events - learning sessions to keep us on the straight and narrow!
