Distributed Ledger Technology Working Group

 

techUK’s Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Group provides strategic direction for all techUK activities related to blockchain and DLT. It positions DLT – the consensus of replicated, shared and synchronised data spread across multiple sites (GoScience) – as an emerging enterprise compute layer to establish trust for value and information transactions made online. Since the advent of bitcoin, the technology has caught the intention of industry, investors and government given gains around efficiency, transparency and information provenance.

The group considers what action can be taken in order to industrialise, support technology readiness, help organisations with adoption and consider use cases not limited to financial services but a wide range of sectors, including, the Internet of Things, smart energy & utilities, cyber security, government and smart contracts.

The Group provides an authoritative and recognized voice for the industry by representing the interests of techUK members in DLT industry forums, standards bodies, platform operators and with other stakeholders.
