Help Shape the Supplier Commitment Local Digital Declaration

This summer saw the launch of the Local Digital Declaration, a shared ambition for the future of local public services written by a collective of local authorities, sector bodies and government departments. It outlines a shared ambition for improved collaboration and creating the conditions needed for the next generation of local public services.

techUK was pleased to be a co-publisher of the Declaration, and stands ready to work with MHCLG, GDS and local authorities on the challenge set out to industry in the Declaration.

As co-publisher we now want to collaborate with the tech industry on what the supplier commitment to the Local Declaration will be. That is why we are hosting this un-conference to hear from suppliers active or looking to break into the local government tech market to:

  • Understand what suppliers want out of the Declaration
  • Discuss the role techUK can play to support the Declaration agenda
  • Discuss what suppliers could do to support Declaration agenda

As this event is an un-conference there is no detailed agenda but all participants will have the opportunity to raise items they would like to discuss in conjunctions to the next steps in the suppliers response to the Declaration.

Suppliers have a vital role in realising the aspiration set out in the Declaration, and we ask that you come prepared to discuss what this role could look like - both for techUK and for your specific organisation. Some examples being discussed include projects to publish more APIs in a common way, or map the common components of specific services areas.
