Richard Pantlin is an independent expert on English Adult Social Care (ASC) systems. He is elected Social Care lead for techUK.
Through the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services Information Management Group (ADASS IMG) he has published reports on:
- the care funding reforms "Implementing Dilnot: just more data or a driver for change?"
- obtaining NHS numbers against social care clients efficiently and
- "Supporting Continuity of Care electronically".
He continues to work with ADASS and the Department of Health helping ASC IT suppliers and councils prepare for delivery of the Care Act and more integrated working with the NHS.
Since going freelance in September 2011, he has completed assignments with the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE); Oxford Health FT; Neighbourhood Watch and commercial ASC IT suppliers. Previously, Richard spent 16 years as Business Development Manager for Northgate Social Care.
His book "Making a difference in Adult Social Care – Release your leadership ambitions" was published in March 2014. It is aimed at anyone planning or reviewing a career in ASC and gives an overview of the whole sector with personal stories from existing leaders.
