Shona is a member of Capita’s Executive Board and is Capita's Director of Corporate Development & Communications. She is responsible for leading Capita's communications and marketing initiatives across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Shona has over 30 years' experience across agencies and FTSE 100 Clients. At Capita she has built up a comprehensive central communications and marketing function which also acts as an agency providing services to the Group’s contracts and businesses to ensure best practice and delivered successful outcomes, including supporting customer facing contracts such as Capita’s Army Recruitment Partnership and Gas Safe.
Shona advises both the senior executive team and senior management team across the Group regarding issues and crises mitigation and reputation management. She is also a member of the Company's disclosure committee alongside Capita’s chief executive and finance director, and is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting and statutory communications. Shona’s corporate development role focuses on ensuring that Capita is developing their own resources and capabilities (internally, through acquisitions and partnering with external partners) in the latest technologies and techniques to keep us at the forefront of our market. She is also responsible for sustainability strategies and initiatives, including contributing to Capita's strategy for new models for service delivery and interaction and engagement with SME's, charities and 3rd sector organisations.
Shona is a Board Director of Fera Science Ltd, Capita's joint venture with the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), and chair of Fera's Appointments & Remuneration Committee. Fera is a leading supplier of scientific solutions, evidence and advice across the agri-food supply chain.
Shona's interests include running to keep fit, and travelling extensively to explore different cultures. She is also a keen visitor of art galleries and dabbling in her own artistic pursuits.
