Anthony Harmer

Anthony is the Chief Executive of ELATT, a leading educational charity in Hackney which has helped hundreds of East Londoners into IT jobs since 1984.

Anthony’s career began as a teacher of English to refugees in the further education sector in London. Motivated by the potential of technology to support equality, literacy and integration he moved to ELATT in 2004.

He has led the organisation since 2008, where he leads a team of 55 staff and volunteers and supports 500 young people and adults each year. In that time ELATT has achieved Ofsted Outstanding (Grade 1), Investors in People Gold and Provider of the Year at the Times Educational Supplement (TES) FE awards in 2016.

Anthony is also a Director of the Third Sector National Learning Alliance and regularly sits on national steering groups in the field of education and digital skills.

Outside of work, Anthony is a keen musician and is married with two children.
