Sarah Atkinson

Sarah Atkinson, VP Communications

Sarah leads a multi-national team of communications professionals and consultancies located throughout Europe, Middle East & Africa. She is tasked with positioning the company as a technology and thought leader in the application economy. Her organization is responsible for building issues based and thought leadership campaigns, media relations, social media, employee communication and the regional corporate social responsibility program.

In 2015, she spear headed a new initiative across the region called Create Tomorrow, designed to inspire, influence and encourage more young people and women to consider a career in STEM. In the UK, through a partnership with non-profit Learning to Work, the program has included strong employee engagement with events such as mentoring, speed networking at local schools and a Step into STEM event in partnership with British Airways and Telefonica. The Create Tomorrow program has been shortlisted for the eSkills Initiative of the Year at the 2016 Women in IT Awards.

A member of the Company's EMEA Leadership team, she provides strategic communications counsel to the EMEA President and other members of the team. Sarah is also the Executive Sponsor for CA's Inclusion & Diversity Program on gender in EMEA.

A former news journalist, Sarah has over 20 years of experience with multinational organizations and previously held senior Communications positions at Cisco, 3Com and BMC Software. She also ran her own PR agency for several years in the UK, working for clients in the finance, HR, media and technology industries. Prior to joining CA Technologies she spent three years at BEA Systems where she ran the European corporate communications team.

During her tenure at CA Technologies, she has held two global roles leading both the Company's technology Communications and Corporate Communications teams, based in New York. Sarah and her EMEA team have been recognized internationally for their work; industry awards include
winner - 2012 SABRE European PR Award for Best Research for Publicity Campaign: Becoming the Boss – CA Technologies and winner - 2009/2010 SABRE European PR Awards for Best Business to Business PR Campaign - in recognition for the CA Technologies APM WebStress campaign.

Sarah has also been a judge at the CIPR and SABRE European PR Awards. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR) and is passionate about the importance of communications in leadership as well as equality and diversity.
