Julian Ashworth

Julian Ashworth is the Global Director of Industry Policy for BT. In this role he works across the BT group and is responsible for leading the development of group-wide industry policy strategy across a broad range of priorities in media, internet and infrastructure. In addition to these responsibilities, he currently leads the strategic development of new incubating businesses within BT group centre.

Julian was previously the Chief Strategy Officer for Reed Elsevier (RE) a global professional media company where he was responsible for strategic planning, strategic marketing, and corporate development. Julian also established and lead the Reed Elsevier Centres of Excellence for Innovation, Pricing and Customer Insight.

Prior to joining Reed Elsevier Julian was with Centrica plc, a FTSE 30 company and global leader in energy and services as the Head of Strategy for their North American expansion, VP of New Product Development and Commercial Director for the Canadian consumer business. Prior to joining Centrica, Julian was a Strategy consultant with Bain & Co working out of the London office.

Mr Ashworth is originally from Montreal and holds both Canadian and British citizenship. He holds bachelor's degree from York University and an MBA from London Business School. He currently resides in Surrey UK with his wife and two young daughters.
