David Pool

David is Chief Executive of Mind Foundry, a technology spin out from the Machine Learning Research Group, within Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. Mind Foundry is focused on the application of Machine Learning and AI to solve real world problems, with a focus on complex industrial environments where machine generated data operates at huge scale and can be transformed using state of the art mathematical models.

David has been central to the success of many other UK and International start-ups, including Bologna based I4C Analytics, sold to Accenture in 2014, Oxford based customer analytics company Ijento and Madge Networks, which grew from 6 employees to 1,800 and an IPO on the NASDAQ in 7 years.  David was also Commercial Director for SAGE software Enterprise division, currently the only software company on the FTSE 100.

A passionate technologist and entrepreneur, David has huge experience in creating the right environments for UK tech start-ups to maximise their opportunities for success and to compete and win against global competition.

David has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester and is a visiting lecturer at many institutions on the transformational power of data, analytics and AI to drive the new and disruptive business models that will power the UK economy of the future.
