Role Purpose:

The HR and Business Services Assistant will provide an effective administration service to both the HR and Business Services teams

The role is offered on a six-month fixed-term contract

Key Responsibilities – Business Services
1. To create and send html marketing emails
2. To carry out all necessary website administration tasks
3. To assist in the smooth running of all Services Department courses and events
4. To handle email and telephone enquiries
5. To assist the Head of Services and Executive with business development and sales opportunities
6. To maintain CRM records, calendars, services spreadsheets and carry out any data analysis tasks required

Key Responsibilities – Human Resources
1. Recruitment
Recruitment administration including advertising roles, liaising with line managers on candidate shortlist, organising interviews, booking interview rooms, follow-up with candidates, administering tests as required, maintaining candidate records, drafting offer paperwork, completing all administration related to on-boarding including right to work checks, reference checks, induction checklist, end of probation administration etc.

2. Performance Management and Reward
Co-ordinate all activity related to the annual performance reviews including distributing information, collating and logging all paperwork, preparing performance management meeting documentation, assisting with salary survey submissions, preparing reports and annual reward paperwork including salary and bonus letters and total rewards statements.

3. Career Development

4. Leaver Administration

Carry out general administrative tasks eg updating HR documentation under guidance from the Director, dealing with standard requests eg mortgage and ex-employee reference requests, maintaining HR files (paper and electronic), liaising with payroll on staff movements, salary and other contract changes, staff benefits etc, administering staff benefit schemes, maintaining holiday and sickness absence records.

6. HR Database
Maintaining the HR database including entering joiners and leavers, contractual changes, promotions, salary changes, bonus information, recruitment data, appraisal, training and development data, report production etc.

Role Purpose:

As a very busy events team, managing 10 – 15 large scale conference, dinners and receptions, this role supports the two Event Managers in the planning and delivery of events.

Please note that this role requires some early starts and evening work.

The role is part-time, three days per work and is offered initially on a six-month fixed-term contract basis which may be extended.


Key Responsibilities

  • General administration:  Carry out all tasks delegates by Event Managers alongside day to day general administration tasks, including but not limited to:
    - Maintain the event team inbox, replying to all queries within 24 hours
    - Maintain event team databases including delegate, venue and sponsorship records
    - Provide general assistance to members
    - Produce weekly event status reports including delegate and revenue statistics per each individual event
    - Keep event information accurate and updated on any promotional materials
    - Create and print badges ahead of events
    - Maintain table bookings for dinners and chase outstanding table plans by the deadline required
    - Set-up event check-in app and event polling software ahead of events and manage on the day of events

Role Overview

The Head of Business Services (HBS) is responsible for leading the creation, execution and successful delivery of our Business Services offerings and the delivery of the financial targets relating to revenue and profit.

The role is responsible for the positioning, sales and marketing, pricing, promotions, establishing future areas of growth and delivering increasing profitability for both techUK’s training programme and software escrow business.

We require an individual who can demonstrate an understanding of how to create and deliver added value services that support our members and non-member customer’s business activities through demonstrating value creation and ROI.

The position requires the ability to work effectively with a series of partners and suppliers to offer services; specifically, in delivering an annual programme of training courses whilst simultaneously performing a marketing and sales role for the software escrow service. Both services are revenue generating and seek to maximise and grow profitability each year.

These techUK services are a mixture of value-added member services and revenue and profit-generating services.

The post is also responsible for managing and developing the delivery of services to the marketing & sales, legal affairs and HR groups.

The person appointed will show capability and potential to build on a strong foundation of business services, an ability to sell these services to members and other partners, an ability to negotiate with service providers and manage the contractual relationships between techUK, its partners and customers.

The role requires someone who has the communication skills, confidence and drive to grow their own profile and that of techUK. This is a hands-on role, with a small supporting team and you will be expected to create, manage and close your own revenue opportunities as a key part of the role.

The role is target driven working towards monthly, quarterly and annual fiscal targets. The role has line manager responsibility for a Business Services Manager and a Business Services Assistant.
